About

In the vast world of jewellery and object design, there are questions an artist must ask themselves; "Am I a traditionalist or a trailblazer?" "What does my craft say about myself and the world I live in?" and "Who do I want my art to speak to?"  For Lainey Rae, the answer is "I'm not sure yet, but let's try a few things and see where that gets us."

Learning her trade at the Vancouver Metal Art School under the watchful eye of Master Goldsmith, Gerold Muller, Lainey Rae pays strict attention to detail but keeps her eye to the ever evolving world.  After working in vintage clothing and antiques for half a decade, she decided it was time to move forward and create.  In her pieces, traces of history and nature can be seen along side bold, modern design.

After her graduation from VMAS, Lainey Rae will be moving to Vancouver Island to live a quieter life where she can focus on her craft.
